848 lorimer street rendering Developers expect 848 Lorimer Street to debut early next year. Rendering via Issac & Stern Architects
Earlier this year, CityRealty gave you a first look at the design for 848 Lorimer Street, a warehouse-replacing 45-unit building coming to the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, directly across the street from McCarren Park. Now, we have an updated rendering of the project, which has been reworked by Issac & Stern Architects. Recent permits filed by Dean Marchi of Grand Street Development also hint towards a rental with residential space encompassing 32,121 square feet, meaning units will average 712 square feet each. The developer's site lists an ambitious completion date of early 2018.

The older design sported the popular neo-factory facade made up of red brick and large casement windows, with the top two levels simulating a glass rooftop addition. It looks like the new rendering got rid of the glass and now displays a 5-story building which gives off some major Victorian warehouse vibes.

848 Lorimer will have tenant storage, two bike rooms, cellar recreation space, a gym, lounge, package room, 23 parking spaces, and outdoor recreation space. There will also be a roof deck for residents.
Situated right next door is the Stephen B. Jacobs Group-designed 868 Lorimer Street, which launched sales in July and has listings priced from $1.6M.
