As the past year shows, Park Slope's rich history has more than stood the test of time. After five years of meticulous work, the Endale Arch in Prospect Park has been restored to its former glory and revealing original details like wood paneling and alternating bands of sandstone and brownstone. Next year, a top-to-bottom restoration will begin on the Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza. And a short walk away, One Prospect Park West has been transformed from the Knights of Columbus headquarters to an in-demand luxury condominium. A penthouse listed for $6.5 million was the most expensive home to go into contract in Park Slope history, and current availabilities range from $2.395 million for a two-bedroom to $4.975 million for a four-bedroom.

"From the interior arches to the reclaimed heart-pine flooring, we considered how each detail could both nod to the past and endure for years to come." - Ryan Mahoney, Co-Founder and Partner, WORKSTEAD

The prime Park Slope location and amenities like a private art gallery, basketball court, fitness center with movement studio, and ODA-designed roof deck with apple orchard have unquestionably been powerful lures for a spate of buyers. Another is the interiors by WORKSTEAD, the acclaimed design studio behind the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg and the Rivertown Lodge in Hudson. One Prospect Park West is its first residential development.

WORKSTEAD’s interiors at One Prospect Park West offer a modern interpretation of prewar details, and that comes through especially well in a 3-bed, 3.5-bath, 2,695-square-foot unit styled by ASH NYC. Like WORKSTEAD, the firm is best known for its work on chic hotels like The Siren in Detroit and Hôtel Peter & Paul in New Orleans. For this residential project, Andrew Bowen of ASH NYC said in a statement, "At once you will find elements that converse in languages both light and dark, curvaceous and geometric, full and slender." The Knights of Columbus building served as a local hotspot for nearly 40 years after it was built in 1925, and its residential reincarnation may yet become the center of Park Slope society again.

The entrance gallery features hand-laid reclaimed heart pine flooring in a custom Frank Stella-inspired pattern.

Just off the spacious living area, a den is ideal for a home office or study.

Large windows in the living room frame views of Prospect Park, and an arched entryway leads to a spacious dining area.

The kitchen is conceived as the heart of the home and exquisitely finished with marble countertops and backsplash, custom-made paneled cabinetry, and a fully integrated appliance package by Wolf and Sub-Zero.

Crafted moldings and panels add character throughout the home.

The mudroom is conveniently located next to the in-unit washer/dryer.

ASH NYC's design features a combination of playful textures and contemporary furnishings.
