As the High Line sets to reopen, Fredrik Eklund kicks off sales at The Emerson live on Instagram; Antimicrobial condos from $4.995M

When New York City went on lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the High Line was one of many popular attractions that closed. Now with the city and state's number of cases substantially down, the elevated park is set to reopen on July 16, with a free timed-entry reservation system in place starting July 9. Masks will be required, and visitors may only enter at Gansevoort Street. It will be open from Gansevoort Street to 23rd Street, and all access points in between will be exit-only.

The reopening of the High Line will once again allow visitors to be impressed by the architecturally adventurous buildings that have sprung up alongside it in the past decade. The latest standout, named The Emerson, is a ground-up eight-unit condo located at the corner of the West 25th Street and Tenth Avenue, just outside of the soon-to-reopen section of the High Line.

Yesterday, Fredrik Eklund, star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York, conducted a live Instagram unveiling from his home in Bel Air with his business partner John Gomes who was on-site at The Emerson. Gomes guided viewers through the building's model unit, its Alabama limestone lobby, and its gorgeous penthouse. While there were a few technical hiccups, the social media format allowed potential buyers to submit questions and see rooms and views upon request.

The Emerson's salient selling points are its full-floor homes, Gaggenau appliances, high-tech infrastructure, super-luxe baths, and anti-microbial safety features. Its location at 500 West 25th Street puts the building adjacent to the High Line, near the Avenues School, and in the center of West Chelsea’s gallery district. The team notes that The Emerson is one of the city's 24 Green Property Certified Buildings. The certification program put forth by the mayor's office symbolizes the city's confidence that the property is one of the safest places to live.

Current availabilities show a third-floor home asking $4.995M and an eighth-floor home asking $5.995M. Both units are three-bedroom, three-bath condos with their own private outdoor space. The grand duplex penthouse unit is set to debut in September 2020, around the same time the building will be officially ready for immediate occupancy.

All the full-floor layouts have private key-lock elevator entries. Taking into consideration the new, post-pandemic normal, all units will include private outdoor space and at least 140 linear feet of operable windows that allow for fresh air circulation. The building's state-of-the-art HVAC units have high-grade filters and the option to upgrade to MERV filters. Additionally, the building's entry door handles and elevator feature antimicrobial brass.
