When we last checked in on Helmut Jahn's glassy and curved skyscraper 50 West in June, it was nearly sold out. And now, more than a year after it's official completion, Financial District's tallest condo (until The Woolworth & 125 Greenwich opens) has just five sponsor units remaining - four of which are gorgeous and expectedly pricy penthouse spreads.
“As we near 100 percent occupancy, I reflect on the role 50 West has played in the resurgence of Downtown Manhattan. The neighborhood has transformed significantly since Time Equities broke ground on the project and is now a vibrant destination that appeals to visitors, the workforce and residents,” said Francis Greenburger, Chairman and CEO of Time Equities.

“The sales and new development teams, led by Javier Lattanzio and Roberta Axelrod, respectively, have done a tremendous job in showcasing the building as a beacon for the new Downtown living experience. The last few units are some of the more spectacular larger homes at the property and are available for lease or purchase.”

Today, we're zeroing in on two of those penthouse units, #PH57A, asking $11.98 million (recently reduced by $1 million), and #PH60A, asking $19 million. Both were designed by the renowned Thomas Juul-Hansen (as were all the homes in 50 West) and are part of the building's "L Series," which is a collection of its most spectacular homes.

Spanning 3,653 square feet and covering a half floor, #PH57A has three bedrooms and four baths and offers expansive south-facing views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty, along with north-facing views of the Manhattan skyline, Hudson River, and more.

The contemporary home is accessed via an elevator vestibule and features an oversized living room with nearly 100 feet of floor-to-ceiling glass windows wrapping the "gentle curve" of the building. Kitchens have C-shaped counter tops, a center island, and custom Stevali kitchens featuring dark stained walnut cabinetry, granite waterfall countertops and backsplashes, and appliances by Miele and Sub-zero, which include a 6-burner gas cooktop, two integrated dishwashers, and a wine refrigerator.

Moving on the northeast wing of the home, the master suite provides One World Trade Center views and a windowed master bath finished with marble walls, radiant heated floors, a sauna, steam shower, and double vanities.

The $19 million price tag of #PH60A doesn't make it the most expensive penthouse we've seen lately, but it is the most expensive listing in the Financial District, where the median price of a condo is currently $1.4 million.

This penthouse is also a half-floor, three-bedroom residence and offers stunning and panoramic views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.

Additional features of this home include kitchens furnished with stone slab countertops and backsplashes, extra spacious refrigerators and freezers, and a full-height wine fridge. The master bath contains a freestanding soaking tub, a benched steam shower, and a sauna.
50 West's Water Club includes a 60-foot swimming pool and a spa.
While the Financial District is experiencing a construction boom as of late, it's likely 50 West will continue to reign with its standout views, impeccably-designed interiors, and of course, its landscaped Observatory and four levels of state-of-the-art amenities, which include a fitness center, Water Club, and children and teen amenities.
