In a city of amazing apartments with rich histories, it can be hard to explain why some listings get snatched up quickly while others linger on the market for a long time. Sometimes a home pays such homage to its prewar past that it hasn't been brought into the present. Sometimes strict co-op boards have a way of keeping would-be buyers at bay and apartments empty. And still other times, a listing was priced so ambitiously high that it doesn't sync up with market realities. Either way, something has to be done.

The past week saw 154 listings throughout the five boroughs experience price reductions. One of them was Diane Keaton's first-ever New York apartment in The San Remo. Please note that all of the following reflect cumulative price cuts and not the most recent chops.
