A certain stretch of 57th Street has gained notoriety as “Billionaires’ Row,” but the block between Second and Third Avenues should not be counted out: 252 East 57th Street has just won the Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence in Mixed-Use Development. A public-private partnership between the Educational Construction Fund and World Wide Group built three new public schools built to DOE Green School specifications and 70,000 square feet of retail space, which brought a Whole Foods and Bank of America to the neighborhood. 252 East 57th Street was the final phase of the partnership and its literal crowning glory.
The sculpted glass tower was designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and features luxe interiors by AD100 Daniel Romualdez. The 34th Floor Club is home to a lounge, billiards room, private dining room, screening room, guest suites, and outdoor Sky Lounge.
