Over in Prospect Heights, a new mixed-use residential building at 805 Washington Avenue will reportedly hold a larger ground-floor space for the Key Food that was demolished on the same site earlier this year. However, this may not be set in stone; sources over at the Brooklynian say that the owners of that store are no longer involved. Either way, the property's recent environmental assessment (PDF) does note that the applicant, Happy Living Development, is seeking certification by the City Planning Commission (CPC) to hold a fresh food store.

The site's current permits indicate the building will reach six stories and hold 25 units, but the same environmental report also states that the developer is seeking authorization to increase the maximum building height by 14 feet.

Well, one thing is for sure: foundation work is now underway.

If the developer is granted the certification and the building height increase, a nine-story, 37-unit building with 7,730 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 19 parking spaces will be erected at the site. The average size of the units indicates condos. A plain rendering has been posted on the construction fence and DJLU Architects are responsible for the design. The proposed development, which will boast views of the nearby Brooklyn Museum, should be fully operational by 2020.
Directly next door, at 807 Washington Avenue, a vastly different structure will rise. Infocus Architecture and developer Boaz Gilad are the familiar names attached to that project, which will rise 7 stories and hold 7 units (likely condos).
