New Jersey’s future tallest building has officially kicked off sales. Rising near Jersey City’s Hudson River waterfront, 99 Hudson Street will bring to market one-bedrooms priced from $889,000 and two-bedrooms starting at $1.5 million. According to a WSJ article published today, prices will average $1,400 a square foot, substantially less than the $1,909 a foot recorded for the 3,393 condos for sale in Manhattan today.
The 79-story, 887-foot skyscraper is being developed by China Overseas America, Inc. (COA), their first residential venture in the U.S. A sleek yet classic design was conceived by the mega-firm of Perkins Eastman and features chamfered corners and a pinstripes of limestone and floor-to-ceiling-glass façade that reminds us a bit of 383 Madison Avenue in Midtown. Its 1.5 million square feet of space will comprise 781 condominium units, 15,000 square feet of retail space, a parking garage and 14,000 square feet of public space.
