Extell’s first building in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Point, has opened its sales gallery designed by three-time AD100 interior design firm Katherine Newman Design (KND). Also KND’s first Brooklyn building, the firm created both the residential and amenity spaces with their signature highly customized and meticulously crafted environments.
The 68-story tower designed by world-renowned architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), is a soaring, 720-foot-tall tower featuring a sculptural façade with oversized windows that frame the picture perfect views of the Manhattan skyline, waterways, and parks. Double-height frames emphasize the proportions of the tower while their angled geometry creates an interplay between light and shadow.

"What’s most important is the way in which the materials are folded and textured and juxtaposed that give the building kind of the important forms.” - Extell

The striking double-height lobby features imported marble floors and light-stained, cerused oak walls with copper inlays. Positioned over the concierge desk, a suspended light sculpture features custom pull-rod glass. The eclectic and artful furniture selection is complemented by a custom ceramic art installation inspired by Roy Lichtenstein. Suspended from the ceiling, cloud-form sculptures introduce organic form to a geometric space.

Regarding the finishes, Extell commented, “what’s most important is the way in which the materials are folded and textured and juxtaposed that give the building kind of the important forms.”
The building includes a selection of studio to three bedroom luxury residences with over 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. Brooklyn Point will be the first for-sale residential property at City Point - the large food, shopping and entertainment destination in Brooklyn.

Extell made an effort to not build an all glass tower, “given that Brooklyn has a tradition of more solid buildings, it was very important that the façade exhibits an elegant solidity.” With the height and location of the building, it will hold a prominent position in the Brooklyn skyline.
