It's hard to ignore: HAP Investments has been making waves in upper Manhattan. If you live or frequent East Harlem, you may have already noticed the finished HAP One at 419 East 117th Street, HAP Two rising at 2338 Second Avenue, and the Karim Rashid-designed HAP Five at 329 Pleasant Avenue. Now the Israeli-based firm led by Eran Polack, Amir Hasid, and Nir Amsel has topped off their largest uptown project yet. Dubbed HAP 10 at 2211 Third Avenue, the 12-story building will hold 108 apartments and a ground-floor supermarket.
Rising at 2211 Third Avenue, at the corner of East 121st Street, the cascading structure was designed by Karl Fischer Architects. The facade is wrapped in gray brick, metal panels, and several rows of glass balconies. The superstructure topped off in November and at a ceremony celebrating the milestone, Eran Polack, CEO of NYC Operations of HAP Investments, spoke about the 'exciting moment,' though he found the development process "very challenging," he said the project was "worth fighting for."

The mid-rise building totals 137,000 of square feet of area and will hold 108 rental apartments. As part of the city's 421-A program, 20% of its rental units will be allocated for affordable housing and a housing lottery will be launched at some point this year. Most of its apartments will be outfitted with balconies or terraces. HAP 10 is also participating in the FRESH initiative that aims to provide fresh produce and supermarkets to underserved areas. In 2015, the grocer Super Fi Emporium purchased 12,000 square feet of retail space along the building's ground floor.
HAP 10's amenities will include an attended lobby and concierge, a superbly equipped fitness center, a rooftop terrace, and outdoor entertainment. On-site parking and bike storage is also available for residents. The building's convenient location is a short walk from East River Plaza and within walking distance to many buses and the Lexington line's 4, 5, and 6 trains. It's also close to Thomas Jefferson Park which has a swimming pool and several sports courts.
