New developments in Brooklyn's
Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood are steadily replacing former empty lots, and one of its latest additions is 655 Quincy Street. The brand new 4-story rental building houses nine market-rate apartments and has just kicked-off leasing earlier this month. For a limited time the leasing team led by Brickwood Relaty is offering a rental concession of one month free on 18-month leases.
The building has nearly 6,000 square feet of residential space with three apartments on the first floor and two apartments on each of the levels above. The units break down to three 1-bedrooms and six 3-bedrooms, with prices ranging from $2,300/month to $2,900/month and inclusive of the one month of free rent offer.
The apartments and common spaces at 655 Quincy are finished in a black, white, grey and natural wood --a color and material scheme that’s both elegant and modern. The lobby, halls and apartment front-doors all have black trimmings. Input Creative specified elegant rows of arches in the hallways and raised paneling, featuring rectangular sconces.
The new building sits on a tree-lined block with both pre- and post-war buildings and replaces an empty lot. Designed by Input Creative Studio, the exterior has a classic façade of brick and black metal paneling that seems partly inspired by the neighborhood's masonry buildings. The building rises taller than its brownstone neighbors and does not have a stoop. Some street-facing apartments have terraces.
All units have large windows, high ceilings and bedrooms that can accommodate queen-sized beds. Apartments on upper floors enjoy the benefits of balconies with French doors. Kitchens have the same color and material scheme as the building with wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a gray, shiny backsplash made up of subway tiles. Bathrooms have black cabinets and white tiles with black trimming.
Building amenities include a virtual doorman, laundry on site and, best of all, a landscaped and furnished roof deck that offers breathtaking views of the skyline. The pet-friendly building can easily access the J, Z trains on Halsey. In fact, both subways are within a range of less than 0.7 miles from the apartment.
The Bed-Stuy neighborhood is part of Brooklyn's Brownstone Belt, which extends to Carroll Gardens. Its architecture is made up of historic brownstones, wood-frame houses and majestic churches. A growing mix of restaurants, cafes, boutiques and shops are opening and there are now more than ten Zagat-rated establishments in Bed-Stuy.
