Over the past couple of years, new rental buildings have risen in Jersey City that are clearly visible from Manhattan including the 41-story Ellipse at 25 Park Lane South and also the tallest building in the state, the 69-story Jersey City Urby. Seeing new development is common for Jersey City residents, on the waterfront and also inland, and now one major project in the works since at least 2007 is nearing completion.

The 50-90 Columbus masterplan from Ironstate Development, intended to connect Jersey City from its historic district to the waterfront, will wrap-up this spring with the launch of the 50-story, 539-unit 90 Columbus - a rental building and the final tower for the project. The first tower, the 36-story, 400-unit 50 Columbus, launched in 2007 and saw all units leased within the first year of opening.

Another phase included a 152-key hotel at 80 Columbus and in the fall of 2015, Ironstate launched 70 Columbus - the iconic 50-story, 545-unit residential tower designed by GSKA Architects with interiors by Andres Escobar.

The exterior of 70 Columbus is a dapper grey façade while inside, there are no-fee rentals in studio to three-bedroom layouts. Residences feature light-filled interiors with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and harbor. Allied Property Company handles leasing and current listings show studios from $2,150/month, one-bedrooms from $2,695/month and two-bedrooms from $3,670/month. Homes are outfitted with oak wood floors and modern kitchens equipped with GE stainless steel appliances, Kohler fixtures and white quartz countertops. Bathrooms feature Kohler fixtures and white quartz countertops. Select 18-month leases offer up to 2 months free.
