At its inception, the soaring, 40-story towers of Independence Plaza (310 Greenwich Street, 40 Harrison Street, and 80 North Moore Street) were designed as part of an urban renewal plan, and then removed from Mitchell Lama in 2005. Amenities include a pool, fitness center, children’s playroom, laundry room, on-site parking, and storage. Duane and Washington Market Parks are practically right outside the front door, as are several popular restaurants and bars, and the Chambers Street subway is only two blocks away. As a social media account shows, Independence Plaza is connected to the local community by virtue of more than just geography; they often highlight new businesses to the neighborhood and arrange special, residents-only offers.
