Renderings of Convivium via Sky Management
In the Upper East Side's Yorkville neighborhood, the recently-built rental tower Convivium, is the first Passive House development in the neighborhood. The 22-story building boasts an eye-catching design by Arquitectonica composed of alternating expanses of masonry and glass. Inside, the building's energy efficiency aspects made it a recipient of the New York State Energy and Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s Building of Excellence Award in 2019. Abiding by Passive House construction guidelines, Convivium is projected to use 80% less energy over its lifetime when compared to the average residential building in the area. This allows residents to enjoy lower energy costs and higher thermal retention.

The building's current availabilities start at $3,642/month for studios, $6,229/month for one-beds, and $7,027/month for two-beds. All prices include some sort of concession and reflect net effective pricing. In spring 2020, an affordable housing lottery took place for 35 apartments ranging from $747/month for studios to $3,123/month for two-beds.

The building's 140 studio through three-bedroom apartments have versatile layouts that include alcove studios, junior one-beds, two-beds plus home office, and duplex apartments with soaring ceilings and York Avenue views. The oversized windows block out noise, yet fill the homes with natural light. The kitchens come outfitted with Italian cabinetry, Dekton countertops, Fischer Paykel and Bosch appliances, and Dornbacht fixtures. The baths feature custom Porcelanosa sinks, full baths, and showers with Dornbacht polished chrome fixtures, large vanities, and one-piece Duravit toilets. Several units have private balconies, and all apartments come with in-unit washer/dryers.

The building offers an array of outdoor amenities such as a common landscaped garden terrace, dog run, and landscaped roof deck with seating, grilling stations, and garden allotments that allow residents to grow their own plants and vegetables. Indoor offerings include a fitness center, co-working lounge, residents’ lounge, and event kitchen, children’s playroom, pet spa, media lounge, video arcade, laundry room, bike room, package room, and storage.
