Overview of One Beacon Court at 151 East 58th Street

One Beacon Court is the 105 unit condominium occupying floors 30 through 55 of the 806 foot Bloomberg Tower in Midtown East. Designed by César Pelli and completed in 2003, the 55 story tower was developed by Vornado Realty Trust on the former Alexander’s department store block after nearly a decade of planning. The residential entrance at 151 East 58th Street is approached through a 110 foot elliptical motor court.

About 60 floor plans range from roughly 1,500 to more than 2,600 square feet. Many are corner layouts organized around entrance foyers and galleries, with 10 to 11 foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, central air and in-unit laundry. High floor exposures take in Central Park, the East and Hudson Rivers, the Queensboro Bridge and the Midtown skyline. Private outdoor space is limited to four residences with terraces.

Jacques Grange designed the residential lobby, while the 29th floor Beacon Club contains a fitness center with massage and treatment rooms, an entertainment suite with catering kitchen, a children’s playroom and a business lounge. The building also has a pool, resident courtyard, bike room and full service garage with valet parking. Services include a 24 hour doorman, concierge, live-in superintendent and round the clock security; One Beacon Court is LEED accredited and pet friendly.

Bloomingdale’s is directly across 59th Street, Central Park is a few blocks northwest, and the 4, 5 and 6 trains stop at the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station. The building’s base includes the northern Chinese restaurant Hutong. Past and present residents have included Jay-Z and Beyoncé, along with Jack Welch, the former chairman and chief executive of General Electric.
