Carter Horsley's Review of The Corinthian

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"One of the city's most spectacular residential developments, the Corinthian at 330 East 38th Street has a distinctive shape of bundled cylinders that affords all the apartments very large, curved bay windows.

Built on the site of the former East Side Airlines Terminal that had been designed by John B. Peterkin in 1951, this full-block, free-standing project between 37th and 38th Streets and Second and First avenues has extensive gardens and great views. " Read Carter's Full Review

Lying south of 42nd Street down to 30th Street, and bounded roughly by Madison and Third Avenues, Murray Hill has a mystique all its own. Best known for its proximity to the Empire State Building on 34th Street, Murray Hill is a neighborhood where time has transformed old carriage houses into charming homes. Here, right in the middle of Manhattan, you`ll find anything you`re looking for in terms of residences, from luxury high-rises to charming old brownstones. Conveniences abound, from diverse services to shopping and ethnic restaurants, and the location lends prime access to travel anywhere in the city. Beyond its status as a budding real estate destination (towers at Manhattan Place, the Horizon and the Corinthian are all within a stone?s throw of each other), there are also a few landmarks to the neighborhood?s credit. The Morgan Library, located at Madison Avenue and East 36th Street, serves as architectural eye candy for incoming residents, as does the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, a romantic C.P.H. Gilbert-designed Beaux Arts mansion originally built for entrepreneur Joseph Raphael De Lemar. With Grand Central Station, the New York Public Library and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel just on the outskirts of town, it?s easy to see the appeal of this understated community"
