Description

Sure to take your breath away, this historic, 3,000 sqft. home, with larger-than-life 12 feet ceilings and 16 opulent windows stretching across the entire apartment, is a must see for New York enthusiasts. Rare and impressive, this huge corner loft on Bleecker street famed landmark MSI building affords the unique opportunity of owning a piece of the city's legacy.

Curated into a 3 bedroom with 3 full bathrooms, an entertainment room, exquisite large dining and living area, this loft has been designed with ample closet space throughout and massive custom doors that help increase the flexibility of entertaining. Views are south/east facing and are engulfed into old Victorian and gothic historic NYC buildings; a sight that will leave you in awe.

Welcome to The Manhattan Savings Institution Bank Building. One of the citys most impressive land-marked buildings in the heart of Nohos historic district.

The building is located on the north east corner of Bleecker Street and is listed as one of the citys top ten loft buildings. Constructed in 1889 1890 by architect Stephen Decatur Hatch, built in a mixture of Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival styles using a medley of materials: carved and rusticated sandstone, terracotta, brick, copper and cast iron. The architect took advantage of the corner site, crowning the building with a copper-clad tower visible for blocks and constructing an impressive wrought iron front entrance gate with a two story high arched entrance surround.

It remains one of the most ornate surviving 19th century buildings in Manhattan.
In 1987 this eight story, 60,000 SF building was restored and converted into 15 unit co-op by the renowned preservation architect, Joseph Pell Lombardi.

One of the most sensational bank robberies in US history took place here in the late 1800s.

The infamous criminal mastermind and socialite, George Leslie, executed the largest bank robbery in US history, inspiring a book and film about the heist.

Surrounding notable facilities is Equinox, Soul Cycle, the Bowery Hotel, and Whole Foods.
