More Comments About the Building

"The building is a walk up but features a live in super and nice terrazzo lobby floors. There are 31 units and it was built in 1939. The board is typical and does not allow co purchasing or parents buying for children. DTI should be under 30%. Located along the East River in the Upper East Side, Yorkville is a relaxed, ethnically diverse neighborhood with a rich history. Originally populated with Eastern European immigrants, the western half of Yorkville was referred to as "Irishtown" and East 86th Street was dubbed "German Broadway." Unlike the neighborhoods closer to Central Park in the Upper East Side, Yorkville is primarily a middle- to working-class neighborhood. Yorkville's affordable living costs have drawn many college students to its apartment buildings, inspiring the nickname "Dorm District" for the apartment buildings between First Avenue and East End Avenue. College students, recent college graduates and long-time residents populate Yorkville. However, Yorkville's homey atmosphere and Eastern European themed commerce is beginning to attract the upper class for daytime strolls and picnics. Hungarian butchers, bakeries and beer gardens can be found throughout Yorkville, which will become more accessible after the construction of the Second Avenue subway line. Overall, Yorkville is a comfortable, inexpensive neighborhood that is becoming more attractive with every year."
