Review of 168 West 87th Street by Carter Horsley

This handsome, brown-brick, pre-war, 9-story building was erected has 238 rental apartments.

The mid-block building has considerable "light-and-air' because it is across the street from the landscaped plaza of the apartment tower on the northeast corner at Amsterdam Avenue. This building has a nice white marble lobby with a concierge stationed behind a window in the vestibule, protruding air-conditioners, a balustrated roofline and consistent fenestration. The second and third floors have openings for arched windows. The building has a two-story limestone entrance surround. The base has three other similar surrounds, one of which encloses the building's service entrance.

There is excellent cross-town bus service on 86th Street and a subway station at Broadway and 86th Street.
