East of East, a 13-unit residential condominium at 13-14 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, was completed in 2010 and is distinguished by its Cor-ten steel facade and the fact that every floor is different.

It was developed by East of East LLC, of which Dr. Amol Sarva is a principal.

The 8-story building has been designed by RSVP Studio of which Brian Ripel is a principal.

The building has two roof decks and a garden with a white stone perimeter wall and a gas barbecue.

Apartments have private elevator entry, balconies, stainless steel countertops, Kitchenaid Architect Series ranges and ovens, LG refrigerators, Kohler faucets, Toto toilets, washer and dryer hook-ups, ceramic subway tiles in the bathrooms, Corian countertops in the bathrooms, and bicycle storage.

The building's website states that Piet Mondrian's paintings and Richard Serra's sculptures were influences on the building's design as was the fact that Long Island City was "long home to many iron works - including one which still operates called Empire City Iron Works."

The building is across the avenue from P.S. 1, which is affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art, an a few blocks from the transportation center at Court Square.

The building's upper floors have dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline and the Queensboro Bridge.
