between Fifth Avenue & Madison Avenue View Full Building Profile
This large, mid-block, white-brick apartment house was built as a cooperative in 1961.
The 21 -story structure has only 24 apartments.
The building, which has a nice rooftop watertank enclosure, has a superb location, half a block from Central Park and close to several major museums. There is excellent neighborhood shopping and crosstown bus service.
The building, which has no sidewalk landscaping, has a pleasant, modem lobby lined in polished granite and in early 1999 it reclad its one-story base with a rosy-cream-colored stone.
The building is not far from an express subway station at 86h Street and Lexington Avenue and is close to several private schools and religious institutions. It has a garage, consistent fenestration, some terraces and discrete air-conditioners. The building, parts of whose upper façades have slightly different colored bricks, is adjacent to the handsome Town Club.
