Notable Neighbors

NOVEMBER 10, 2011

Members of the Harry Potter cast may lurk together at celeb-packed Morton Square condo; fashion’s A-listers love–and leave–their historic townhomes.

Alan Rickman—he plays master-of-the-glare Snape in the Harry Potter movies—is apartment-hunting, reportedly having glared at a $2.59 million, 1,450 square foot two-bedroom apartment at One Morton Square, where his notable neighbors would include not only Oliver Stone, Mike Myers and the Amy Poehler/Will Arnetts, but fellow Potter star Daniel Radcliffe (CurbedNY).

The penthouse pied-à-terre at 131 West 11th Street belonging to Josephine de la Baume just changed hands for $1.51 million. The French model, singer, stunning style icon and new bride of DJ Mark Ronson first listed the 1,225-square-foot duplex for $1.7 million back in March. The West Village apartment has a fashionable legacy: Vogue editor Grace Coddington lived there for over two decades (NYObserver).

Fashionable living: High-profile J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons, who has been turning up in tabloid headlines recently over her somewhat public divorce and personal life, is selling her iconic Park Slope home for $3.7 million. The 4,400 square foot, 7-bedroom Garfield Place townhouse has “Park Slope dream house” written all over it, and Ms. Lyons has added her design-savvy influence to every available surface. (NY Observer). Marc Jacobs street-style couture empire co-founder Robert Duffy is staying put in the West Village but shifting blocks a bit. The fashion biz wiz sold his Bank Street home in favor of a four-bedroom historic townhouse at 35 West 12th Street. Duffy purchased the townhouse for $5.2 million hoping to give his family more space for their baby daughter. He sold the Bank Street property for just over $7 million (NY Observer).
