The Brewster - 21 West 86th Street: CARTER'S REVIEW


This very handsome rental apartment building was erected in 1927 and renovated in 1986.

The 16-story building, which has 153 apartments, is very close to Central Park and has a concierge, a sundeck, a bicycle room, high ceilings, and video security. It does not allow dogs.

The building has a marquee entrance, permits protruding air-conditioners, and has some attractive balconies.

It has an excellent location on an impressive major cross-street and there is superb cross-town bus service and a subway station at the corner. Furthermore, one of the city's nicest stretches of good sidewalk caf?s is just to the south on Columbus Avenue.

This section of the Upper West Side has attractive churches, good schools and a wide variety of retail activity.
