between Avenue C & Avenue D View Full Building Profile

Review of 751 East 6th Street by Carter Horsley

This 12-story apartment building at 751 East 6th Street between Avenues C and D in the East Village was developed in 2018 by L & M Development Partners, whose other projects in the city include the Northside Piers in Williamsburg and The Pearson Court Square in Long Island City.

It has 82 rental apartments.

It has ground-floor retail.

It was designed by GF55 Partners.

Bottom Line

A plain but attractive mid-rise, mid-block building in the Far East Village.

Description

The red-brick building is dramatically divided by a black, one-window-wide pier that expands to two-windows at the 8th floor and then is setback at the 10th floor.  The east end of the building is setback at the 8th floor and its tower has a black façade.  The developers used a similar design treatment at The Pearson Court Square project that added a two-story setback rooftop addition topped by three large wind turbines.

The lobby has two large indented black upholstered seating niches that are very handsome.

Its very thin block cornice treatment and slightly indented multi-pane windows are subtle and attractive.

The roof deck has handsome wooden fencing.

Amenities

The building has a part-time concierge, an attractive roof deck with sweeping vistas, a live-in superintendent, a gym, a package room, bicycle parking and cold storage.  Pets are permitted.
