between Second Avenue & Third Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 225 East 76th Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, 7-story, mid-block building was erected in 1962 and converted to a cooperative in 1984. It has 47 units.

The beige-brick building is across the street from Junior High School 167. It has a one-step-down entrance and attractive sidewalk landscaping with spiked planters and discrete air-conditioners.

It has fire escapes that are painted white and no doorman, no garage and no health club.

It has a good central Upper East Side location that is convenient to many cultural and religious institutions, restaurants and boutiques. It is close to Lenox Hill Hospital and a local subway station at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue and there is good cross-town bus service on 79th Street.

There is considerable noise in this lively area.
