The Sandgate, 311 East 75th Street: Review and Ratings

between Second Avenue & First Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 311 East 75th Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, 6-story, mid-block building was erected in 1930 and was converted to a cooperative in 1984. It has 60 units.

The beige-brick building has a dark green marble, one-story entrance surround with a three-step-down entrance and an attractive wrought-iron fence with large cylindrical railings. The building has some protruding air-conditioners and fire escapes and no doorman, no garage, no sidewalk landscaping and no health club.

There are numerous good restaurants in the area and good local shopping nearby. There is good cross-town bus service on 72nd and 79th Streets, and there is a nearby subway station at Lexington Avenue and 77th Street where Lenox Hill Hospital is also located.
