The Powerhouse is one of Long Island City's most distinctive residential conversions, transforming a 1909 Pennsylvania Railroad Power Station designed by McKim, Mead & White into 177 luxury condominiums. Developed by CGS Developments and Zigmond Brach, the building's conversion in 2008 by architect Karl Fischer and interior designer Andres Escobar preserved the red brick structure's industrial character while adding four setback stories.
