This well-located, 15-story, red-brick building was erected in 1917 and converted to a cooperative in 1965. It has 58 apartments.
The building has a two-story, limestone base the first story of which is rusticated above a short gray granite base. The canopied entrance, which has wooden doors, is surmounted by very attractive cornucopias. The building has some sidewalk landscaping and a stringcourse on the fourth story and pen-nits protruding air-conditioners. It does not have a garage.
The building is convenient to some cultural institutions and many world-famous boutiques along Madison Avenue as well as many restaurants and neighborhood shopping along Lexington and Third Avenues. Although the nearest subway station is several blocks away, there is good bus service on this major cross-town street.
