150 West 55th Street: Review and Ratings

between Avenue of the Americas & Seventh Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 150 West 55th Street by Carter Horsley

This modest, mid-block, pre-war apartment building adds a lot of character to this surprisingly interesting Midtown West block between the Avenue of the Americas and Seventh Avenue.

The 9-story, brown-brick building was erected in 1922 and designed by Larsen Shein Ginsberg Snyder LLP Architects.

The building has 51 cooperative apartments, a doorman, beamed ceilings, a canopied entrance and a garden. It is pet friendly.

It is across the street from the City Center for the Performing Arts and there are two through-block pedestrian arcades and two plazas on the same block.

The location is convenient to Carnegie Hall and to public transportation and it is not too far from Central Park.
