Goodhue House, 20 East 35th Street: Review and Ratings

at The Southeast corner of Madison Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 20 East 35th Street by Carter Horsley

This very attractive white-brick apartment house has a prime Murray Hill location one block south of the wonderful Morgan Library. The building's long frontage on Madison Avenue is across from the very elegant former B. Altman's building that is now a major library facility and office center. The 16-story building, which was erected in 1937, is very nicely proportioned with light courts and setbacks. It was converted to a cooperative in 1983 and has 166 apartments, many with corner windows, many of which have spectacular views of the Empire State Building.
