between Park Avenue & Lexington Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 111 East 30th Street by Carter Horsley

Pierpont is a name long associated with J. P. Morgan, the great art collector and banker whose "library" is the glory of the Murray Hill neigbhorhood. The Morgan Library occupies the east blockfront on Madison Avenue between 36th and 37th Streets.

This attractive residential tower is a few blocks away at 111 East 30th Street in the Kips Bay neighborhood. The mid-block building was erected in 1984 and has 52 condominium apartments. The 22-story building is notable for its very attractive sidewalk landscaping and many balconies.

It is set in a plaza on a very attractive and quiet sidestreet. It was designed by Philip Birnbaum.

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a roof deck, storage space, a fitness center and a children's playroom but no garage. It permits pets.
