20 Plaza Street East: Review and Ratings

between Flatbush Avenue & Vanderbilt Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 20 Plaza Street East by Carter Horsley

This rather plain Art Deco-style, low-rise building at 20 Plaza Street East one block north of Grand Army Plaza at the entrance to Prospect Park in Brooklyn has a very sprightly and attractively landscaped entrance with a quite stunning entrance.

The 6-story has 100 co-operative apartments.

It was erected in 1940.

The building is a short walk away from the 2 and 3 subway lines and a 5 minute walk to the Q and B lines.

There are several restaurants in the area on Flatbush and Vanderbilt avenues and it is convenient to the Brooklyn Library, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and a weekend greenmarket.

Bottom Line

A well-located, low-rise, Art Deco-style co-operative with a stunningly attractive landscaped curved walkway entrance with an impressive circular marquee with glass walls.
