A-rod seeks a Manhattan home base; Jennifer Aniston looks for (apartment) love; Napster upstart buys downtown.

Yankee (and Cameron Diaz beau) Alex “A-rod” Rodriguez, having sold his Florida home a year ago, was recently seen checking out an Upper East Side property currently being rented for an alleged $37,000 a month. It may not have a private boat dock like his Coral Gables pad, but the 3,846 square foot prewar limestone townhouse at 9 East 62nd Street has 15 foot ceilings and a sweeping central staircase and was last listed for just over $14 million (Zillow Blog).

Not long after Jared Kushner’s Astor Place bachelor pad went on the market, the young publishing titan and his wife, Ivanka (nee Trump), are keeping things in the family: The couple are reportedly about to sign the papers on a 4-bedroom, 4,200 square foot starter home at Trump Park Avenue that was recently offered off-market at $16 million (NY Post).

Jennifer Aniston was recently spotted scoping out an $8.75 million penthouse at 552 LaGuardia Place in Greenwich Village. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom triplex near NYU also has a private landscaped roof garden (CurbedNY).

The home of the late Elaine Kaufmann, uber-hostess of iconic city salon and nightspot Elaine’s, is up for sale. The recently-departed restaurateur’s Upper East Side penthouse at 425 East 86th Street just hit the market for $2.9 million and offers a wood-burning fireplace, wraparound terrace and East River Views (NYMag).

Executive Suites: Napster founder and former Facebook chief Sean Parker (played by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network) recently uploaded $20 million for a Village pad at 40 West 10th Street known as the “Bacchus House.” The ‘net mogul had been renting the 7,500-sq ft Beaux-Arts style converted carriage house with a private garage, indoor pool and landscaped atrium to use for parties and fund-raising events (Zillow Blog).
