What's Going on this Week

MAY 18, 2011

Some of the best things in life are free this week, plus a chance to find out about a different kind of buzz.

Korean Mobile Kitchen Free Lunch Week
Not only is there such a thing as a free lunch, but it’s tasty, Korean and coming this week to a grill near you! As part of the “Discover Korea’s Delicious Secret” campaign to promote Korean food and culture in America, Taste of Korea NYC is sponsoring a moblile kitchen that will be popping up at locations throughout the city from 11:30 - 2:00 p.m. through Friday, May 20. Check their Facebook page for each day’s free lunch spot, contests and other info.

“Bright Field”: Music and Modernism
Alongside the Guggenheim’s Great Upheaval exhibition, this gallery program highlights music by composers such as Claude Debussy, Zoltan Kodály, and Anton Webern, performed by Typical Music, illustrating the way the birth of modern music synched with the development of modern art as composers provided a soundtrack from which new languages of abstraction were forged.
Tuesday, May 24, 6:30 p.m.
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 1071 5th Avenue at 89th Street
Tickets: $15, $10 Members
