North 11th & Roebling - 215 North 11th Street: CARTER'S REVIEW

The group of six 5-story buildings containing 24 condominium apartments at 215-223 North 11th Street and 2-6 Roebling Street at very close to McCarren Park in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and were developed by Anthony Fernicola in 2003.

Known as "North 11th and Roebling," the buildings have canopied, three-step-up entrances adjacent to garbage receptacles and they permit window air-conditioners.

The beige-brick buildings are distinguished by arched white stucco bases and set-back rooftop arched dormers, each with two windows. The second, third and fourth stories have protruding lintels above the windows that coupled with the arched bases give the complex a slightly textured facade.

The buildings are separated from one on Roebling Street by a courtyard with a gated, ramped entrance and the rear of the buildings on North 11th Street have cascading step-down cantilevered sections that are quite unusual.

The buildings on North 11th Street are across the street from the large blue-and-gray residential condominium building known as Warehouse 11.

The apartments range in size from one- to three-bedroom units and the penthouse duplex units have large terraces. The apartments have washer-dryers and open kitchens with black granite countertops and stainless steel GE appliances.

There are duplexes in the base of the buildings that are convenient to the L and G subways.
