Top 10 Rental Buildings in Downtown Brooklyn

Over the past decade, Downtown Brooklyn has truly emerged as a distinct business hub. Since the 2004 rezoning of the neighborhood, more than two-dozen new residential projects have risen on every corner, many of which offer lavish amenity packages, picturesque skyline views and, of course, convenient transit access to Manhattan and beyond.

#1 - 300 Ashland, 300 Ashland Place

The postwar high-rise at 300 Ashland Place, in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, has 32-stories, 379 rental apartments and a geometrically ‘cut’ aluminum facade. Designed by Ten Arquitectos, the tower is located steps away to the east of the great Brooklyn Academy of Music and One Hanson Place. The property is smoke-free, has a 24-hour concierge, a fitness center, a residents’ lounge, valet and a live-in superintendent. At its feet is a mixed-use cultural space of nearly 50,000 square feet with BAM cinemas, 651 Arts dance studios, a public library, Brooklyn’s second Apple Store, and direct access to the Brooklyn-based MoCADA

#2 - The Ashland, 250 Ashland Place

The postwar 52-story apartment tower at 250 Ashland Place is located in the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn. Erected in 2016, as a collaboratory effort between The Gotham Organization and FXFowle Architects, the building contains 586 units with expansive views of the harbor and the Manhattan skyline. Some of the many amenities on offer are outdoor and indoor screening rooms, concierge, an indoor playground, a fitness center, and a roofdeck with greenery and an outdoor bar. Conviniently nearby are the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Barclay Center and many subways. At its base is the Gotham Market, an elaborate, roatating pop-up space that features some of the best dining and drinking Brooklyn has to offer.

#3 - 388 Bridge Street

When it finished construction in 2013, the 53-story apartment tower at 388 Bridge Street was the tallest Brooklyn has ever seen. Situated between Willoughby and Fulton streets in Downtown Brooklyn, the tower has 234 rentals, 144 condominiums and, at its crown, a night-lit turbine. Inside, residents are afforded luxurious amenities like a gym, a roof deck, a media room, a sky lounge with a fireplace, and a barbecue terrace/ grilling deck. It’s also conveniently located near public transportation, Borough Hall, Metro Tech and the Long Island University Brooklyn campus.
