Thor Equities

Thor Equities is a New York City-headquartered real estate development, leasing and management firm founded in 1986 by Joseph J. Sitt. Its global portfolio spans diverse urban properties across North America, Europe and Latin America, including industrial sites, technology and life science offices, retail spaces, hotels and mixed-use projects. In Manhattan, its Thor Living division oversees many prewar rental buildings in neighborhoods such as Central Harlem, Morningside Heights, the Upper West Side and Lenox Hill. These apartments often have renovated interiors with hardwood floors, central air conditioning and modern kitchens, and the buildings provide amenities such as live-in superintendents, intercom entry systems, on-site laundry and pet-friendly policies.

Thor Equities also invests in office, retail, hotel and hospitality real estate beyond rentals. One example in Manhattan is West End Hall at 840 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side – a prewar elevator building originally constructed in 1910. Thor renovated West End Hall with updated apartments featuring quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. The building provides a live-in superintendent, secured entry via intercom and on-site laundry for residents. This blend of historic architecture with contemporary upgrades reflects Thor's value-added strategy: tenants can expect well-located homes that combine classic New York City character with modern conveniences and full-service management.
