Review of 14 Sutton Place South by Carter Horsley

This very handsome, pre-war apartment building at 14 Sutton Place South on the northwest corner at 56th Street was built in 1929 and converted to a co-operative in 1957.  The 15-story building has 93 apartments.

It was designed by Rosario Candela, who also designed the even more impressive apartment building at 1 Sutton Place South directly across the street.

A west-bound bus has a stop on the northwest corner of 57th Street and Sutton Place where there is a small park across the street.

Bottom Line

A red-brick apartment building on Sutton Place designed by Rosario Candela with large layouts, some with two fireplaces.

There are thin bandcourses above the fourth and the 7th floors.
