Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Dec 23, 2011
47 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This large, white-brick, mid-block, apartment building has an excellent Carnegie Hill location, close to many major cultural institutions, private schools and religious institutions.

It was erected in 1963 and converted to a cooperative in 1987.

The 15-story building has 138 apartments.

It has a many balconies and a very nice polished black granite entrance surround and the canopied entrance leads to a step-up lobby. It has a doorman and discrete air-conditioners, no health club, no sidewalk landscaping and no sundeck.

There is excellent bus service and an express subway station is at Lexington Avenue and 86th Street. There are many nice boutiques in the area as well as some charming restaurants and 86th Street has substantial retail activity a couple of blocks to the east.

Although this is not the most beautiful sidestreet in the area, it is quiet and Central Park is just one block away to the west and the Guggenheim Museum just two blocks away.
