Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

80 CITYREALTY RATING
  • #12 in Central Park West

Carter's Review

The western anchor of one of the city's most distinguished blocks, this attractive, 33-story building has many stunning views of Central Park over the many "studio" mid-rise buildings to the east.

Erected in 1984 as a condominium, this attractive-reddish-brick building has about 170 apartments, some with high ceilings, in a tower setback over a low-rise base that has a spacious lobby and very attractive retail frontage. It has many corner windows.

It has a prime Upper West Side location just to the north and east of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and close to many major stores and restaurants such as Brooks Brothers, Atlantic Grill, Shun Lee Palace and P. J. Clarke's.

Central Park is just a short walk to the east and the area abounds in restaurants and and has excellent cross-town bus service just to the south.  It so very convenient to the Broadway subway.

The building was designed by Schuman Lichtenstein Claman & Efron for Daniel Brodsky.
