The Piermont, 201 West 21st Street: Review and Ratings

between Seventh Avenue & Eighth Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 201 West 21st Street by Carter Horsley

This white-brick apartment house was built in 1961 and converted to a cooperative in 1981. The 13-story, doorman building, which has a nice roof garden, has 130 apartments. The boxy building has long bands of windows giving it a pronounced horizontal emphasis. Located in the heart of Chelsea, it is convenient to many restaurants, art galleries and theaters. There is good cross-town bus service two blocks to the north on 23rd Street as well as a local subway station.
