Carter's Review

This attractive, 16-story apartment building at 163 Washington Avenue in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn has 49 rental units and was designed by Karl Fisher.

It was erected by the GLC Group in 2010.

Bottom Line

This handsome, mid-block building’ modernity makes it standout sharply from its low-rise masonry neighbors, but because it is flanked by open spaces that clash is far from jarring.

Description

The glass-clad building has a graceful and symmetrical façade with angled balconies and a very handsome and long entrance marquee beside a front lawn.

Amenities

This building has a concierge and a doorman, a roof deck, a gym and a garage.

Apartments

Apartments have washers and dryers and ash flooring.

Some of the kitchens have large and tall windows.

Penthouse 1 is a two-bedroom unit with a large, hexagonal balcony with entrances from the angled, 21-foot-long living room with an open kitchen with a breakfast bar and the angled 15-foot-master bedroom.

Apartment C on floors 3 through 15 has a small entry foyer adjacent to an open, pass-through kitchen, and an 18-foot-long living room with a balcony and two angled bedrooms.

Apartment A on floors 9 through 15 is a two-bedroom apartment with an open, pass-through kitchen and a living room with a balcony and one of the bedrooms has a balcony.
