Carter's Review

The Ivy is a pleasant, 10-story building with 28 residential condominium apartments at 249 East 118th Street on the northeast corner at Second Avenues in East Harlem that was built in 2006.

It was designed by Issac & Stern and is also known as 2301 Second Avenue.

It was developed by Ivy LLC of which Steven Weinreb is a principal.

Bottom Line

This sprightly, pink, mid-rise building has a central location in East Harlem not far from a major shopping mall.

Description

It has a rusticated first floor and a rose-colored brick façade.

It has a canopy entrance and discrete air-conditioners.

It is near the East River Plaza mall on 117th Street.

Amenities

The building has a part-time doorman, a roof deck, a fitness center, Juliet balconies, and a landscaped courtyard.

Apartments

Apartments have Brazilian maple floors, 9 to 10-foot-high ceilings, video intercom, individual controlled heating and air-conditioners and GE washers and dryers.

Kitchens have double-door frosted glass and maple cabinetry, GE Profile appliances and Caesarstone countertops

Baths have Honey Onyx marble countertops, subway tiles and Danze Parme fixtures.

Apartment 10B is a two-bedroom unit with a 15-foot-long living room and an open 12-foot-wide kitchen with a 184-square foot terrace off the living room and a 16-square-foot balcony off the 19-foot-long master bedroom.

Apartment 10A is a two-bedroom unit with an entry next to an 8-foot-wide pass-through kitchen next to the 17-foot-long living room that has a 155-square-foot terrace and an 18-square-foot balcony.  The second balcony has a 15-foot-wide balcony.

Apartment 9B is a two-bedroom unit has an open, 12-foot-wide kitchen and a 15-foot-long living room with a 583-square-foot terrace.  The 19-foot-long master bedroom has a 10-foot-wide balcony.
