Carter's Review

This 6-story, grey-brick building at 316 East 22nd Street between Second and First Avenues in the Gramercy Park neighborhood was erected in 1910 and converted to residential use in 2008.

The mid-block building was converted from a garage to 6 full-floor condominium apartments by     Hal Einhorn.

David Howell was the architect for the conversion.

Bottom Line

Full-floor apartments with fireplaces and multipane windows not far from Gramercy Park.

Description

The building has a wide, inset entrance with a handsome glass-and-steel marquee that is west of the building’s two large automobile portals.

The building has multi-paned windows and the top floor is partially setback.
