This very attractive, mid-block, 8-story, modern, residential condominium building at 313 West 121st Street just west of the Frederick Douglas Boulevard in Harlem was completed in 2019 and has 6 apartments.  It is known as The Vidro.  "Vidro" means "glass" in Portuguese. 

It was designed by Soluri Architecture and developed by Brittban Realty, which is headed by a long-time resident of the neighborhood who bought the lot in 1999. 

The building won the "most innovative New York condominium Design" award from the 2016 Architecture Award Series of BUILD Magazine and was a finalist in the 2019 NYCcDesign Awards in the "exterior building" category.  Soluri also designed the Soma Condominium at 116 West 22nd Street. 

This building is a block from Morningside Park.

Bottom Line

The rectilinear building has a jazzy, diagonal fenestration pattern that is slightly off-center, protruding, and switches its darker blue side on the lower two floors.

Description

The building is setback considerably from its building line and its entrance is approached by a gently rising ramp flanked by sidewalk landscaping.

Amenities

The building has an attended lobby, a roof deck, private elevator access to every unit, Akuvox Virtual Smart intercom systems, and fully enclosed storage rooms.  Pets are allowed.

Apartments

The apartments have floor-to-ceiling E-rated glass front and back façades with concealed, pre-wired window shade coves, 7.5-inch-wide wired-brushed oak flooring with a matte walnut brown finish, Bosch kitchen appliances and washer and dryer sets and Duravit bath fixtures. 

The penthouse is a three-bedroom, triplex unit with 1,621 square feet
