This very attractive, 6-story apartment building at 198 Van Vorst Street between Morris and Essex streets in the Paulus Hook section of Jersey City.  It is known at The Madox and was built in 2014 by Bozzuto Management.

It has 131 rental apartments.

It is close to the Grove Street PATH station.

Bottom Line

The pleasant building has a bold curved entrance marquee on a terrace and a playful interplay of red, orange and white façades along with a nice line-up of amenities.

Description

The rental building has a LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council and has rooftop solar panels. 

It has a broad, four-step entrance to a long, fenced terrace with sconces and red-brick columns with an arched entrance with a dramatic, curved marquee.  The building has extensive sidewalk landscaping.

The building has a chamfered corner with a white façade that continues over the building’s side façades above cornices.  The building has a cheerfully overlapping and colorful interplay of red and orange façades with one red façade rising the full height with an angled cornice in a pleasant display of playfulness.

The building has large discrete air-conditioners.

The non-smoking building has a concierge, a 24-hour fitness center, a roof deck with pergolas, a fire pit and picnic area, a large, landscaped courtyard with pergola, a garage and valet parking, a business center, an event room, a lounge, a children’s playroom.  The building is pet-friendly.
