Carter Horsley
Review of 180 East 79th Street by Carter Horsley

This very handsome, 18-story, brown-brick apartment house was erected in 1930 and converted to a cooperative in 1966.

It has 118 large apartments.

The building has an impressive and large lobby decorated in an Oriental style with a doorman and a concierge. The building has a two-story limestone base, sidewalk landscaping, a canopied entrance, some terraces, a gym and consistent fenestration. The building's rather massive façade is divided by two bandcourses and the building permits protruding air-conditioners.

This is a very lively section of the Upper East Side with many restaurants nearby. There are also numerous schools and religious and cultural institutions in the vicinity and public transportation and neighborhood shopping are excellent.
