233 East 69th Street: Review and Ratings

between Third Avenue & Second Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 233 East 69th Street by Carter Horsley

This pleasant, 16-story, red-brick apartment building was erected in 1951 and converted to a cooperative in 1987.

The nicely-proportioned, mid-block building features many attractive, large corner windows and its top two floors have angled bay windows.

With an excellent and central Upper East Side location, the building is close to many fine restaurants and stores, such as Gracious Home and Grace's Marketplace, both nearby on Third Avenue. Many of the sidestreets in this area are among the loveliest in the city.

The 204-unit, doorman building is only a few blocks from a local subway station at 67th Street and Lexington Avenue and cross-town buses run a few blocks to the north and south. This area is one of the most pleasant on the Upper East Side.
