Charing Cross House, 305 East 72nd Street: Review and Ratings

between First Avenue & Second Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 305 East 72nd Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, beige-brick, 17-story building was erected in 1955 and converted to a cooperative in 1987. It has 174 apartments.

The building has some bay windows along Second Avenue and some sidewalk landscaping at its canopied entrance, which has a small bronze marquee. The building has a doorman, discrete air-conditioners and some terraces. Its comer retail space is leased to a 24-hour pharmacy.

With its central Upper East Side location, the building is very convenient to many restaurants and good neighborhood shopping and there is good cross-town bus service, although the nearest subway station is several blocks away.
