The Eastmore, 240 East 76th Street: Review and Ratings

at The Southwest corner of Second Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 240 East 76th Street by Carter Horsley

This large, 17-story apartment building was erected in 1960 and converted to a cooperative in 1991. Many of the white-brick building's 293 apartments have wide picture windows. The building's long sidestreet façade is divided into three sections with two wings straddling a taller center section that has a different fenestration pattern that adds visual interest. The Eastmore, which has a doorman and a concierge and permits 80 percent financing, is located close to the center of the Upper East Side and many popular restaurants are in its vicinity. In addition to convenient neighborhood shopping, the building is not far from a subway station at Lexington Avenue and 77th Street and crosstown buses on 79th Street. A large public school is on the same block.
